Cover and feature story in "Oh, Contraire" magazine
A lovely journal that "captures unique people in a variety of places all over the world." Not only am I honored that they they choose me for the cover but they named this issue after the theme of my work: "Small is Good".
FYI with Laura Glazer of “Hello Pretty City”
Informal interview in the April 2015 issue of 518 Life about Hello Pretty City, my life, and my passion for the Capital Region. (Click photo to read entire article.)
It's a bestseller!
I knew when I saw “At State and Pearl” from 1916 that it would inspire modern citizens of Albany, New York. 518Life magazine confirmed that when they featured the book and the story of its rediscovery prominently in their February 2015 issue:
“We first saw this cool little pamphlet in a tweet from @helloprettycity (aka Laura Glazer), @AlbanyArchives (Intercity Man of Mystery who refuses — so far — to reveal his true identity) and @ftorangegeneral (aka Fort Orange General Store on Delaware in Albany). We decided to dig deeper.
Apparently the pamphlet, At State and Pearl, was discovered by @AlbanyArchives, who also created albanypostcardproject.com , at a favorite website for historic treasures: archives.org .
“It’s one of the best areas online to find old bizarre publications,” he says from his cell phone booth. “I thought it was neat. It’s written very 100 years ago.”
Glazer, host of a weekly radio show on WEXT and general promoter of All Things Albany, saw @albanyarchives’ tweet about the discovery and decided, after checking out the appropriate copyright rules, to reprint it for sale at Fort Orange. (Shout out to her favorite local printer, Hanys Printing Service in Rensselaer.) “It expresses the glee of living in the city,” she says. “It gives us a goal to work back to.”
As we type this, the pamphlet is on its third printing. “They ignite something in Albanians,” Glazer says. Apparently. And they will be at Fort Orange while supplies last.” ©2015 518Life
Hello Pretty City tote is a highlight of fair
"There's so much growth and creativity happening north of NYC right now, which is why that tote at the top designed by Hello Pretty City for Fort Orange General Store resonated with many fair-goers."

Dream come true! My first time in Metroland.
When I moved to Albany my goal was to be in Metroland, the Capital Region's weekly newspaper. And having an exhibit abroad is the event that made it happen!
Aww yeah! Thanks Times Union!
The Capital Region's newspaper, the Times Union, named "Hello Pretty City" the Best College Radio Show in 2004.
